Frederic Mishkin

Frederic Stanley "Rick" Mishkin (born January 11, 1951 in New York City ) is an American economist and since 1983 professor at Columbia Business School . From 2006 to 2008 he was a board member of the Federal Reserve System .

His father Sidney Mishkin (1913-1991) founded the Sidney Mishkin Gallery at Baruch College of the City University of New York .

Fred Mishkin attended Fieldston School and then studied economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology , where he received a BS in 1973 and a Ph.D. in 1976. completed. 1999 awarded him the Renmin University of China in Haidian an honorary doctorate .

He has two children with his wife Sally.

controversy

In 2006 Mishkin was among the authors of a report entitled "Financial Stability in Iceland". The client was the Icelandic Chamber of Commerce. Mishkin raked in US $ 124,000. The documentary " Inside Job " sparked controversy over this report.
