Frederick Hervey, 8th Marquess of Bristol

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Frederick William Augustus Hervey, 8th Marquess of Bristol (born October 19, 1979 ), is a British nobleman . He is currently the youngest incumbent British marquess .

He is the son of Victor Hervey, 6th Marquess of Bristol (1915–1985) and his third wife Yvonne Marie Sutton.

Hervey attended St Maur School in Monaco , Sunningdale School in Berkshire and Eton College . He completed his studies at the University of Edinburgh in 2002 with a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.). He then worked for seven years as a manager of a real estate fund in Estonia . In 2003 he had a residence in 2003 Fontvieille (Monaco) .

In 1998 he couldn't prevent his half-brother John Hervey, 7th Marquess of Bristol , from selling the family's remaining rights to live on the east wing of Ickworth House near Bury St Edmunds , Suffolk to the National Trust , which set up a hotel there. Ickworth House had been the seat of the Earls and Marquesses of Bristol since the 15th century.

When the 7th Marquess of Bristol died childless on January 10, 1999, he inherited his title of nobility, including the associated seat in the House of Lords . In November of the same year he lost his hereditary parliamentary seat due to the House of Lords Act . In the meantime, there are no parliamentary speeches by him in the Hansard .

As long as he is childless, his 4th nephew, Alexander George Hervey (* 1920), is likely heir ( Heir Presumptive ) of his title of nobility.
