history
In 2002, the editors of the mountain bike magazine bike Florian Haymann , Christopher Hug , Dimitri Lehner and Markus Greber planned an independent freeride magazine. Markus Greber experienced the freeride movement as a journalist from the very beginning . In 2005 the publisher gave the go-ahead for the Freeride project . First of all, a bike special under the distinctive "Red Label" title Freeride was tested on the market to see whether there was enough potential for buyers . The first issue exceeded forecasts and the publisher decided to have another issue that same summer. Since 2006, Freeride has been published four times per freeride season with increasing circulation .
Awards
Freeride has awarded the freeride milestone once a year since 2008 . The Award Company of the Freeride - industry for innovative and groundbreaking products are excellent. For this purpose , the editorial team nominates three products in each of the three categories of complete bike / frame set, components and accessories. The freeride readers then decide on the award of the milestone in an online vote . The freeride milestones are awarded annually at the Eurobike fair in Friedrichshafen .
