Svoboda a přímá demokracie ( SPD , German: Freedom and Direct Democracy ) is a right-wing extremist political party in the Czech Republic . It was founded on May 5, 2015 by Tomio Okamura , who broke up with his previous party, Úsvit přímé demokracie (Úsvit, in English: dawn of direct democracy ).

The name was chosen based on the European parliamentary group Europe of Freedom and Direct Democracy . However, the SPD is now a member of the competing movement for a Europe of Nations and Freedom (MENL).

The SPD initially had three members in the Czech House of Representatives through the transfer of Úsvit. Besides Okamura, these were Radim Fiala and Jaroslav Holík . In the 2017 House of Representatives election in the Czech Republic , the party finally moved into the House of Representatives with 22 MPs.
