Friends of prosperity

The Friends of Prosperity are an activist group of the Linz association Social Impact Action Community , who use the means of the communication guerrilla to develop narrations , i. H. pictorial illustrations, works that make socio-political friction surfaces and conflicts visible. One of the main topics of Social Impact is the restrictions on action of marginalized groups.

Self-image and goals

The activist group around the artists Isabella Herber , Carlos Anglberger , Barbara Larcher , Thomas Pichler , Othmar Steiner , Christian Chorherr and the communication scientist Thomas Duschlbauer , has specialized in disrupting conventional clichés with the means of hidden theater and satirical actionism . She has been defending the minority rights of the super-rich since 2009 . The idea arose from the experience of the financial crisis, to which there were hardly any reactions and demonstrations from civil society. The friends of prosperity intend to fill this vacuum with increasingly brazen demands. "In Cash We Trust", "Poverty stinks - money doesn't", "Your envy pisses us off", "Everyone has their chance. We took them.": The group wants to provoke with such slogans and uses the public space for this as a stage.

The Friends of Prosperity took to the streets for their rights and were also committed to the release of their friend Helmut Elsner .

Stand up to the envious society

This was the motto of the Friends of Prosperity, who in October 2010 demonstrated at the “Luxury Please” trade fair against the fact that they are increasingly being pushed to the margins of society.

Buy something!

Consumers are baffling the domestic trade: The Friends of Prosperity hunted down unscrupulous economic pests in the inner city of Linz in Advent 2010 and publicly denounced unscrupulous bargain hunters, refusing to consume and cheap buyers.

Everyone has a right to wealth!

On the occasion of the opening of the 2011 Festival, the Friends of Prosperity turned the entire city center of Salzburg into a stage for a reinterpretation of the play " Jedermann " and demonstrated to passers-by that wealth is nothing a decent person should be ashamed of. Even death was not spared and received its deserved punishment.

1% for Africa

The friends of prosperity ate against hunger: They set an example and donated the proceeds of a meal at the Linz Donaulände to those suffering from hunger in Africa. The people had the chance to attend this show dinner of the local business elite live and experienced one culinary flight after another with oligarchs, hedge fund managers and millionaire wives.

Action Triple A

Dramatic bank rescue under police protection: In one action, the Friends of Prosperity broke into the foyers of Bank Austria and Erste in Vienna's 1st district and surprised the employees with their very private bank rescue. True to the motto of the Friends of Prosperity “In Cash We Trust”, hundreds of thick bundles of money were deposited in the bank.

The Friends of Prosperity proceed to Austria's largest charity campaign: after an initial campaign around the bankruptcy of Hypo Alpe Adria in Linz, they march in front of the Ministry of Finance in Vienna. As part of this rally at the Vienna State Opera, the group advocated the purchase of Hypo Alpe Adria by the Bosnian multi-billionaire Ivan Zilic.

No vacation with vacationers

With this action, the Friends of Prosperity protest against the "sloppiness" of the Greeks and remind them of their ancestor Sisyphus as a great example of hard work .

Freedom for Ernst Strasser

In 2013, the Friends of Prosperity demonstrated for the freedom of Ernst Strasser before the Vienna Regional Court . As “proof” of his innocence, they presented an agent trap in which “agents” of the British Secret Service were promptly caught.

Stay away from banking secrecy

The Friends of Prosperity protested with a Femen -like counter-demonstration at the May Day rally of the SPÖ in 2013 . They opposed suspected restrictions on banking secrecy .

STRATOS 2.0

On the occasion of the planned transaction tax , the Friends of Prosperity raised a huge balloon in the shape of a finger in front of the Vienna Parliament on November 17, 2012 . In this context they are calling for the introduction of a "moderate" dictatorship.

Begging demo in Linz

According to the motto "Where there is a lot of light there has to be a lot of shadow", the friends of affluence stand up for beggars and against the ban on begging, also with regard to the tourist aspects of picturesque folklore. As compensation for the harassment, they distribute money.
