Thomas Duschlbauer

Thomas Duschlbauer (born November 23, 1968 in Linz ) is an Austrian communications and cultural scientist and journalist .

Life

Thomas Duschlbauer received his doctorate in communication science from the University of Vienna in 1994 and completed a master's program at the University of London in 1996 . He worked as a journalist for the Standard , among others , and is currently working for business news. As a co-founder and partner of BAU | KULTUR, he dealt with the interrelationships between architecture , design and corporate culture . There were research stays in the USA and Great Britain .

The focus of his scientific work is the application of the concept of style and Ludwig Wittgenstein's language game theory to explain processes within corporate organizations. In 2012 he co-authored the work "Innovationsguerilla", which illuminates the relationship between dogmatic and stylistically managed organizations. He presented the concept at the University of Oxford and the Universities of Sterling, Helsinki and Kiel, among others .

Thomas Duschlbauer teaches as a professor at the University of Applied Sciences in St. Pölten and is an independent management consultant with a focus on iterative and improvisational approaches such as "innovation guerrilla", design thinking and bricolage .

He is the managing partner of "KompeTrend GesmbH", which deals with the latest developments in society, culture, economy, politics and technology.

Among other things, he received a talent award from the city of Linz (literature) and the state of Upper Austria (architecture). He also took part in a design project that was awarded an innovation prize and the TRIGOS prize . Other prizes: "City of Cultures" Prize Linz, Braintwister (ideas competition for the creative industries).

Thomas Duschlbauer is a board member of the Creative Upper Austria Association and the Cultural Institute at the Johannes Kepler University Linz, President of the Upper Austrian P.EN Club and a member of the Austrian Society for Social Research and Associate Member of Staff at CUCR Goldsmiths College / University of London .
