Macharetí is a town in the Chuquisaca department in the lowlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Macharetí is the central place of the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Macharetí in the province of Luis Calvo . The village is located at an altitude of 650 m on the right bank of the Río Macharetí , which seeps away about 30 km southeast of Macharetí. A few kilometers west of the village runs the Voranden chain of Serranía Aguaragüe , which runs from Boyuibe in the north via Villamontes to Yacuiba in the south and reaches heights of up to 900 m at Macharetí.

Macharetí is located in the humid tropics on the northern edge of the Bolivian Chaco .
The annual average temperature of the region is 25 ° C, the monthly values fluctuate between almost 20 ° C in June and July and 29 ° C in December and January (see Villamontes climate diagram). Macharetí is located at a distance of 561 kilometers by road southeast of Sucre , the capital of the Chuquisaca department.
Sucre from the 976 km long leads highway Ruta 6 on Zudañez , Padilla , Monteagudo , Lagunillas and Camiri to Boyuibe north of Macharetí . Here the Ruta 6 crosses the 1,631-kilometer-long Ruta 9 from Guayaramerín on the Brazilian border via Santa Cruz to Yacuiba on the Argentine border. From Boyuibe it is 46 kilometers to Macharetí.

Due to the historical distribution of the population, the region has a certain proportion of Guaraní population, in the municipality of Macharetí 19.2 percent of the population speak the Guaraní language .
