Macharetí is a town in the Chuquisaca department in the lowlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

Macharetí is the central place of the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Macharetí in the province of Luis Calvo . The village is located at an altitude of 650  m on the right bank of the Río Macharetí , which seeps away about 30 km southeast of Macharetí. A few kilometers west of the village runs the Voranden chain of Serranía Aguaragüe , which runs from Boyuibe in the north via Villamontes to Yacuiba in the south and reaches heights of up to 900 m at Macharetí.

Sucre from the 976 km long leads highway Ruta 6 on Zudañez , Padilla , Monteagudo , Lagunillas and Camiri to Boyuibe north of Macharetí . Here the Ruta 6 crosses the 1,631-kilometer-long Ruta 9 from Guayaramerín on the Brazilian border via Santa Cruz to Yacuiba on the Argentine border. From Boyuibe it is 46 kilometers to Macharetí.
