The municipality Macharetí is a district in the Chuquisaca department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The municipality Macharetí is one of three municipalities in the province of Luis Calvo and includes its eastern area. It is bordered by the Santa Cruz Department in the north, the Huacaya Municipality in the west, the Tarija Department in the south , and the Republic of Paraguay in the east .
The municipality extends roughly between 20 ° 22 'and 21 ° 00' south latitude and 62 ° 13 'and 63 ° 33' west longitude, its extent from west to east is 135 kilometers, from north to south 65 kilometers.
The municipality comprises 72 municipalities ( localidades ), the central place of the municipality is the village Macharetí with 1,823 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) in the western part of the district.

The municipality of Macharetí is located in the humid tropics on the northern edge of the Bolivian Chaco east of the north-south running Voranden chain of the Serranía Aguaragüe .
