The Municipio Huacaya is a district in the Chuquisaca Department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The municipality of Huacaya is one of three municipalities in the province of Luis Calvo and includes its central western area. It borders the Santa Cruz Department in the north, the Villa Vaca Guzmán municipality in the west, the Tarija department in the south , and the Macharetí municipality in the east .
The municipality extends approximately between 20 ° 25 'and 21 ° 00' south latitude and 63 ° 23 'and 63 ° 43' west longitude, its extension from west to east is 20 to 30 kilometers, from north to south 60 kilometers.
The municipality comprises 17 municipalities ( localidades ), the central place of the municipality is the municipality Huacaya with 387 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) in the central western part of the district; most populous places in the municipality are Santa Rosa de Cuevo with 202 inhabitants and Boycobo with 264 inhabitants.

The municipality of Huacaya is located in the humid, subandine Chaco of Bolivia on the edge of the southeastern foothills of the Bolivian Cordillera Central .
The six-month wet season extends from November to April and the dry season from May to October (see Camiri climate diagram). The annual average temperature is around 23 ° C, with 17 to 18 ° C from June to July and over 26 ° C from November to December. The annual precipitation is 875 mm, the wettest months are December and January with 175 mm and the driest months July and August with less than 10 mm.
