Frida Sanggaard Nielsen (born December 1, 1998 ) is a Danish rower.

Career

After starting rowing in 2015, Frida Nielsen qualified for the European Rowing Junior Championships in Trakai, Lithuania in 2016 . She started there together with Ida Petersen in two without a helmsman . They reached the A-final and secured the silver medal there behind the Italian duo and ahead of the German duo. At the Junior World Rowing Championships in the same year they reached the A-final again and only had to admit defeat to the Italian duo in a time of 7: 18.50 minutes.

In 2017, Nielsen took part in the U23 world championships in rowing on the Plovdiv rowing channel and started in two boat classes. Together with Ida Petersen in two without a helmsman, the two reached the A-final, in which they did not start. So they finally took sixth place. The duo was also part of the eighth under helmsman Karen Mortensen . The Danish eighth reached the A final and finished fifth there on July 23 in 6: 21.98 minutes.

In 2018 she moved up to the adult sector and became part of the Danish four-man without a helmsman , which in addition to her consisted of Anne Larsen , Hedvig Lærke Rasmussen and Ida Jacobsen . The quartet started at the World Rowing Cup I in Belgrade . There they reached the finals and on June 3rd they finished fifth. At the World Rowing Cup III in Lucerne , the team started again and finished second in the A final in 6: 28.67 minutes behind the four from New Zealand. During the season, Nielsen also took part in the adult world championships on the Plovdiv rowing canal for the first time. The Danish quartet reached the A final and just missed a medal there in 6: 28.78 minutes with fourth place. In 2019 Anne Larsen, Trine Dahl Pedersen , Frida Sanggaard Nielsen and Nina Hollensen took fourth place at the European Championships in Lucerne . Three months later, the Danish four-man without a helmsman in the line-up of Ida Jacobsen, Frida Sanggaard Nielsen, Hedvig Rasmussen and Christina Johansen competed at the World Championships in Linz and won bronze behind the Australians and the Dutch.
