Friday Nights with Yury Revich

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Friday Nights with Yury Revich is a concert series that was initiated by the Austrian violinist Yury Revich and Mia Papaefthimiou in 2015 in Vienna . It is the main project of MY Arts Association for Cultural Support , an interdisciplinary non-profit organization for the promotion and networking of young artists on a national and international level.

Objectives of the organizer

The idea and goal of the project is the development of a new event format that combines a formal, classical music concert and an informal concert with other art forms into a Concert of Arts . Classical music and art should also be made attractive to a younger audience.

In addition, young artists should be given the opportunity to present their skills together with well-known artists such as Christiane Hörbiger , Maresa Hörbiger , Angelika Kirchschlager , Sona MacDonald and Paul Badura-Skoda . The young artists include Maria Yakovleva, prima ballerina of the Austrian State Ballet and the double bass player Dominik Wagner.

In addition to this aim, the organizer describes it as a concern to draw attention to people and groups of people in need through charity events and to collect donations. In 2017, a close cooperation with UNICEF Austria was achieved.

Structure of the concerts

The concerts combine classical music with the presentation of fine arts , applied arts and fashion . Readings, theater and dance also complement the musical performances. This is intended to break up the strict form of a classical concert and create a new offer to consume art and music. The forms and connections presented in each case differ for each of the events.

The productions take place with a large number of artists and contributors. The programs also often establish a connection to the venue. In the summer of 2017, the concert “The Kiss” in Belvedere Palace was based on a guided tour of the museum and ended before Gustav Klimt's work “ The Kiss ”.

Venues

In addition to various venues in Vienna such as B. Belvedere Palace , Musikverein and Semperdepot , the first international concerts were held.
