Yury Revich ( Russian Юрий Александрович Ревич Yuri Alexandrowitsch Rewitsch ; born August 28, 1991 in Moscow ) is an Austrian violinist of Russian origin.

biography

Revich has been playing the violin since he was six. At the age of seven he entered the Central Music School of the Moscow Conservatory . From 2005 to 2009 he was a student of Wiktor Pikaisen . From 2009 to 2016 Revich studied at the Music and Art Private University of the City of Vienna . Revich has Austrian citizenship and lives in Vienna .

Career

Revich made his debut at Carnegie Hall in May 2009 and at La Scala in Milan in 2013 .

In addition, he has performed at international music festivals such as the Verbier Festival . Revich plays regularly in the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg, in the Konzerthaus Berlin , in the Gasteig in Munich, in the Wiener Musikverein , in the Wiener Konzerthaus , in the Metropolitan Hall in Tokyo , in the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow, in the Cadogan Hall in London as well as in the Preston Bradley Hall in Chicago . From 2012 to 2016 Revich played a Balestrieri from 1783, and since 2016 he has played a Stradivarius from 1709.

He is co-founder of the concert series Friday Nights with Yury Revich , initiated in Vienna in 2015 .

  • 2016: Young artist of the year at ECHO Klassik
