Frieda Zerny
Frieda Zerny , b. Frieda Zimmer , married. Frieda Hallwachs , ( December 7, 1864 - March 5, 1917 in Kassel ) was a German singer ( mezzo-soprano ).
Frieda Zerny was a daughter of Heinrich Benjamin Zimmer and Friederike Zimmer, b. Müller. Her musical talent was recognized early on and so she started training with Julius Stockhausen . She took the stage name Frieda Zerny and appeared as a mezzo-soprano on various German stages. Among other things, she interpreted the songs of Hugo Wolf , with whom she was close friends.
In May 1901 Frieda Zerny married the musician Karl Hallwachs (1870–1959).
