The Kleinnaundorf Peace Chapel is an Evangelical Lutheran sacred building in the Kleinnaundorf district of Freital .

history

The chapel was built as one of the first sacral new buildings in the newly founded German Democratic Republic . It was built in 1950 with the help of the population and inaugurated on the 3rd Advent in 1950. The church bell was donated by King Albert in 1898 and has been ringing on a specially built bell cage designed by Peter Schewe since 1998 . Before that, it was on Glockenplatz . The altar was designed by Brigitta Großmann-Lauterbach from Graupa . In 2009 a used organ was acquired from Oldenburg (Oldenburg) and inaugurated on the 3rd of Advent 2009 after it was overhauled. In 2017 a postcard was published showing the church.

Buildings on the municipal cemetery in Freital-Kleinnaundorf

The prayer room can be enlarged by sliding away a wooden wall and can accommodate up to 90 people. The church is located at Saarstraße 1, next door is the associated Kleinnaundorf communal cemetery. Despite the relatively small size, weddings are possible.

Organizationally, the Friedenskapelle belongs to the Bannewitz parish and is the parish's second sacred building alongside the Bannewitz church.
