Friederike Porth came to the theater in Weimar with her parents in 1793 , where she married the actor Heinrich Vohs on June 29, 1793 . She had five children with him.

Friederike Vohs was the first actress to play the title role in Schiller's drama Maria Stuart in the world premiere on June 14, 1800 in the Weimar Court Theater . It was also the first Thekla in Schiller's Wallenstein in Lauchstädt . Other roles she created were Creusa in Ion by August Wilhelm Schlegel in 1801 , Turandot in Schiller's drama of the same name, and Iphigenie in Goethe's drama Iphigenie auf Tauris , in the new production of 1802. Thanks to her talent as a singer, she also found recognition in operatic roles , but went to Stuttgart with her husband as early as 1802 . As his widow, in 1805 she became the mother of an illegitimate daughter of Prince Paul von Württemberg .

In 1808 she became a member of the Vienna Court Theater, was engaged in Frankfurt am Main from 1805 to 1817 and at the Dresden Court Theater from 1818 to 1839 . In 1818 she married the Dresden court actor Friedrich August Werdy (1770–1847).

A portrait previously held for Goethe's wife Christiane Vulpius , a chalk drawing by Friedrich Bury from 1800, shows Friederike Vohs.
