The brick chapel was built in 1897 based on a design by the town building inspector a. D. Emil Jaehn in neo-Gothic style at the same time as the construction of the cemetery. The floor plan is laid out in the form of a cross. The building is crowned by a turret with a square lantern , which is covered by a pointed helmet . There is a small stair tower at the entrance. A morgue adjoins the north side of the chapel .
The interior of the chapel consists of a central room, which is spanned by an open boarded roof truss . Parts of the equipment are from the construction period.
The chapel is a typical example of the cemetery architecture of the Wilhelminian era .
