The company was founded by Fritz Bäte the Elder (born September 6, 1844 in Ischenrode ; † May 23, 1917 in Hanover) in 1874, during the first years of the so-called " founding period " of the German Empire . Starting from the property at Isernhagener Strasse 3 , located on one of the former farms in the village of List , Fritz Bäte initially appeared as a “ wagon owner ”. With this initially small forwarding company, he picked up general cargo and entire truckloads from various Hanover railway stations and delivered them to various recipients, mostly economically up-and-coming businesses.

After the city of Hanover in 1893 Nordstadt the Bachstraße had created, Fritz Bäte, the increased demands of his own laid upturn accordingly, 1898 its forwarding to the Bach Straße 3 .

In 1906, the company's founders handed over the company to his son of the same name Fritz Bäte the Younger (born June 15, 1881 in Hannover, † 9 August 1958 in Bad Tolz ), then both the German domestic and international groupage traffic built up and so the competitiveness of the Lower Saxony economy contributed.

With the outbreak of the First World War , the company owner and all of his leading employees went to war as soldiers in 1914, leaving only much older workers and “Mrs. Bäte”, who meanwhile managed the company alone. During this time she initially supported Hanover's oldest forwarding company, the Joh. Chr. Heine company , which she then took over in 1916 .

Also middle of the war that came Railway Administration Hanover with the handling of their Eilgüter in arrears and then enlisted the help of the now led by "Mrs. Bäte" company to complete. As a result, the company "Fritz Bäte, Spediteur Hanover" was appointed as the "railway official express goods orderer" until 1928.

In addition, road transport was changed in the course of motorization and constantly increasing speeds, and instead of the previous draft horses, vehicles were gradually used.

In 1921 the Bäte forwarding company was relocated from Bachstrasse to a larger plot of land at the then address Schulzenstrasse 10 , where larger warehouses could then also be used. In the following year, the shipping company Joh. Chr. Heine, acquired during the war, was converted into a GmbH in 1922 and then continued as an independent company in association with the Bäte Speditionsgesellschaft .

At the time of National Socialism , Bäte commissioned Emil Hörmann's forwarding company, founded in Bielefeld in 1934, to start regular services between Hanover and Bielefeld. This business relationship only ended with the beginning of the Second World War , when Hörmann and his vehicle were drafted into the Wehrmacht and assigned to the pioneers .

After the war, Bäte first rebuilt the close-knit transport network of the Bäte forwarding company and soon also took part in the air freight transport service for export . In addition to the timely import soon also included furniture and specialized transportation of high-quality works of art to the service - portfolio .

After the Freiwirtschaftsbund had demanded a " Basic Law of Economy" from the German Bundestag at the end of 1952 , which should prescribe and promote the introduction of the social market economy within the otherwise free competition , and the Federal Agency for Long-Distance Freight Transport should be provided with an administrative board of 27 members for various tasks , the Federal Minister of Transport at the time had already appointed the entrepreneur Fritz Bäte for one of these tasks, the working group for forwarding and storage .

In 1992, the Bäteweg was laid out near the company's former depot in Schulzenstrasse .

2007, the company had its seat after Ronnenberg relocated, where he had his seat in the Hansa Straße 68 .

On October 28, 2015, Bäte Spedition GmbH was deleted from the commercial register with the number HRB 54714 at the Hanover District Court .
