Friedrich Abraham von Hopffgarten , also simplified by Hopfgarten , (born October 13, 1702 , † April 24, 1774 in Mülverstedt ) was an Electoral Saxon Privy Councilor and Provost of the Naumburg Monastery .

Life

He came from the Thuringian noble family von Hopffgarten and was the son of the later major general Georg Friedrich von Hopffgarten . Like his father, Friedrich Abraham served the Wettins . At the court in Dresden he was appointed to the electoral Saxon secret council. He became provost at Naumburg Cathedral and therefore lived in Naumburg for a while. For several years he also worked as a supervisor for the county of Mansfeld in Eisleben .

Friedrich Abraham von Hopffgarten was a widower at an early age and had an only son and two daughters who outlived him. The son was Georg Wilhelm von Hopffgarten , a real councilor of the Electoral Saxon court and judiciary, and the two daughters Ernestine Friedericka, wife of Karl Friedrich von Dacheröden , and Carolina Louise married von Uffel.

His brothers were Carl Gottlob von Hopffgarten and Christian Friedrich von Hopffgarten.
