Friedrich Backhaus (politician)

Friedrich Conrad Backhaus (born February 23, 1797 in Selbach , † October 10, 1869 in Affoldern ) was a German economist and politician .

Backhaus was the son of the conductor Heinrich Christian Backhaus and his wife Johanette Elisabeth nee Sude. He married Martha Elisabeth Freudenstein on February 3, 1822. He was an economist in Affoldern. After the March Revolution he was elected to the second rural constituency in the Landtag of the Principality of Waldeck-Pyrmont in 1848. He belonged to the state parliament until the end of the electoral period in 1849 and again from 1852 to 1855 (for the constituency of the Eder district).
