Friedrich Behrens (politician)

Friedrich Behrens (born March 19, 1897 in Bremen-Oberneuland , † February 3, 1972 in Bremen ) was a German farmer, Bremen local office manager and member of the Bremen citizenship (BDV, FDP) .

biography

education and profession

Behrens was the son of a farmer in Oberneuland. After the early death of his father, he ran the farm as a farmer from 1911, which he then took over around 1920. As the dike captain of Oberneuland, he managed to raise the Holler dike on the Wümme .

politics

In 1933 he became a member of the German People's Party (DVP). After the Second World War , he was appointed mayor of the Bremen rural community of Oberneuland by the Allies in 1945. In 1947 he joined the liberal Bremen Democratic People's Party (BDV), which became part of the FDP in 1951 .

In 1946 he was made a member of the Bremen citizenship and then elected. He was a member of the citizenry for 21 years from 1946 to 1967. From 1947 to 1965 he was honorary head of office or local office manager of the local office of the Bremen district of Oberneuland.

He was head of the Association Bremen Water Board , churchwardens of the parish Oberneuland and president of the Bremen Agriculture Association .
