Friedrich Brömmel

Friedrich Brömmel (born June 27, 1791 in Goslar ; † January 31, 1856 ) was a German - Swiss historian .

Life

From 1810 Brömmel studied at the Georg-August University of Göttingen (among others with Arnold Heeren ) and the Friedrichs University of Halle . He was promoted to Dr. phil. doctorate and from 1820 was a teacher at the pedagogy in Halle. In 1822 he completed his habilitation in history at the University of Halle. In 1823 he went to the University of Basel as a full professor of history . In 1836 he was rector there .

Brömmel was naturalized in Basel in 1844 .
