Friedrich Christian I (Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg)
Friedrich Christian I of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg (born April 6, 1721 , † November 13, 1794 in Augustenburg Castle ) was Duke of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg . He was the eldest son of Christian August (Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg) (1696–1754) and his wife Frederikke Louise Danneskiold-Samsøe (1699–1744).
Life
When he inherited Augustenburg and Gravenstein in 1754 , the goods were heavily in debt. By renouncing his inheritance rights in Schleswig and Holstein , he was able to obtain a high severance payment from the Danish king and expand his estate to Alsen and in Sundewitt . This made him the largest landowner in Schleswig. This also enabled the new building of the Augustenburg family seat to be initiated.
Friedrich Christian was a Danish general and knight of the Elephant Order .
progeny
