Friedrich Drese

Friedrich Drese (born December 22, 1960 in Deutzen , Saxony ) is a German organ builder and organist.

Life

Friedrich Drese learned the profession of organ builder in Dresden . After several years of professional practice, he studied at the Dresden University of Church Music . From 1990 to 1997 he was a church musician in Röbel / Müritz . Since 1997 he has headed the Malchow Organ Museum . The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mecklenburg appointed him organ expert in 2009; Since the merger in 2012 to form the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany , he has been responsible for the Mecklenburg Church District. His constant work includes the inventory of all organs in Mecklenburg . In 2012 he identified the positive organ in the village church of Ruchow as a work by Joachim Richborn . He planned and supervised the restoration of the organ. It was set up in 1796 by the organ builder Heinrich Schmidt, a son of the organ builder Paul Schmidt in the Dobbertin monastery . Drese received the Heinrich Schliemann Medal in 2005 .
