Friedrich Eberhard Schnapp

Friedrich Eberhard Schnapp (born October 4, 1938 in Dortmund ) is a German legal scholar.

Life

Friedrich Eberhard Schnapp graduated from high school in Syracuse (New York) , USA in 1956 and finished school in 1958 with the Abitur at Pestalozzi-Gymnasium Herne . Schnapp then studied law at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms University in Bonn and the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . In 1963 he passed the first state examination and in 1968, after completing his legal clerkship, the second state examination. He received his doctorate in 1969 and completed his habilitation in 1975 at the Ruhr University in Bochum . From 1977 to 1984 he was scientific advisor and then professor at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . In addition, from 1980 to 1982 he was a judge in the second main office at the State Social Court of North Rhine-Westphalia . From 1984 to 2004 he was owner of the chair for Heads of State and Administrative Law with special focus on social justice and 1986-2005 Managing Director of the Institute for Social Law at the Ruhr University. During this time he was visiting professor in Leuven in 1998 . Schnapp is a member of the Corps Guestphalia Bonn , Neoborussia-Berlin zu Bochum and Guestfalia Greifswald .
