Friedrich Franz Sackenheim

Friedrich Franz "FriFra" Sackenheim (born October 18, 1926 in Frankfurt am Main ; † January 24, 2011 in Berlin ) was a German journalist.

Life

Friedrich Franz Sackenheim (“FriFra” for short) began working as a freelancer for youth magazines and radio in 1946 after his release from captivity . In 1949 he joined the Berlin Telegraf as a newspaper volunteer . On October 1, 1949, he joined the Landesverband Hessen e. V. (hjv) of the German Association of Journalists (DJV), between 1963 and 1981 he was a member of the board of the hjv, from 1981 to 1985 Sackenheim was a member of the national board of the DJV.

In 1957 he switched to radio editor at Hessischer Rundfunk and was already in charge of the service in 1958 , in the following years he was news chief and deputy editor-in-chief . From 1971 to 1991 he was editor-in-chief of radio at Hessischer Rundfunk. During his tenure as editor-in-chief, the wave hr4 was founded, which quickly became popular with folk music and regional reporting. Furthermore, a studio for live reporting was set up on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange during his tenure .

Sackenheim was a member of the German Press Council from 1976 to 1981 . Friedrich Franz Sackenheim was an SPD member in local politics for 33 years as a city councilor and city councilor.

He died on January 24, 2011 at the age of 84 in Berlin.
