Friedrich Fritschi

Friedrich Fritschi (born December 5, 1851 in Hettlingen , † June 29, 1921 in Zurich ) was a Swiss politician ( Democratic Party ), association functionary and teacher.

Life

The son of a farmer attended the teacher training college in Küsnacht from 1867 to 1871 . He then taught in Vorder-Egg until 1874 and in Enge until 1881 . He also studied languages ​​and history at the University of Zurich from 1874 to 1976 . From 1881 to 1884 he studied in Paris, Florence and London. Fritschi worked from 1884 to 1903 in Neumünster (Zurich) as a secondary teacher . From 1890 he was the responsible editor of the Swiss Teachers 'Journal and from 1894 to 1921 President of the Swiss Teachers' Association. From 1903 to 1921 he worked as a secretary for the Swiss Teachers' Association. From 1894 to 1900 Fritschi was chairman of the school synod of the canton of Zurich and from 1898 to 1917 the Zurich educational council. From 1905 to 1921 he was director of the Pestalozzianum. From 1895 to 1913 he represented the Democrats on the Grand City Council of Zurich. After the parliamentary elections in 1902 , he was a member of the National Council until 1919 .
