Its members sought fundamental reforms of the social conditions in Prussia . So Fubel also stood up for the election of the second Prussian Chamber and emerged victorious from this election campaign together with businessman Jacob. In contrast, Fubel performed his parliamentary activities for the constituency of Calbe - Aschersleben .

Work in Halle

When he resigned his pastoral office in 1854, Halle (Saale) became his permanent residence. His particular interest was in the city's economic and communal development. There he followed the call to the magistrate's college and worked for several years as an unpaid city councilor.

Here he made special contributions to urban green spaces, urban gardening and the school system. Above all, Fubel took a large part in the development of Halle's saltworks , which at the time had got into a severe existential crisis. As a Pfänner , he was also a member of the supervisory board and took over its chairmanship in 1868. He played a key role in the negotiations with the Prussian tax authorities, which ultimately led to the contract of February 7, 1868, in which the continuation of the salt works was guaranteed. For the transfer of the ancient production area of the "Halle", the so-called royal salt works and the associated Zscherben lignite mine, the Pfänerschaft received 80,000 marks.

Fubel recognized the significant economic development through the industrial utilization of lignite in the Halle area. He worked on the supervisory boards of Werschen-Weißenfelser Braunkohlen AG , the “Glück Auf” union and the Halle banking association.

Despite all the obligations and duties of numerous offices, the sociable local politician did not neglect his round table, which was called "Evening Star" and which included the personalities of the city of Halle, including the bookseller Pfeffer, Sanitary Councilor Hüllmann, businessman CA Jacob and businessman Werther.

After Fubels resigned from his municipal office, he was granted honorary citizenship in 1892 . Friedrich Fubel died in 1905 at the age of 95. He was buried in the north cemetery in Halle / Saale .
