Friedrich Grützmacher the Younger
Friedrich Grützmacher (called the Younger , born October 2, 1866 in Meiningen , † July 25, 1919 in Cologne ) was a German cellist .
Leopold Grützmacher's son got his first job as a cellist in Sondershausen . In 1888 he became a soloist with the Budapest Theater Orchestra. From 1894 he was a concert soloist with the Gürzenich Orchestra and Quartet in Cologne. Here he also taught as a professor at the music college , where he was among other things the teacher of Hermann Busch . On 29. April 1901 , he played together with Karl Straube in Wesel the premiere of Max Reger's Cello Sonata in G minor, Op. 28,.
