Friedrich Heinrich Flottmann

Friedrich Heinrich Flottmann (born June 24, 1844 in Bochum ; † March 3, 1899 there ) was a German engineer , entrepreneur and industrial pioneer.

He was the son of Johann Heinrich Diederich Flottmann (1818–1895) and Friederike Catherine Wilhelmine Elisabeth Flottmann born. Wunnenberg (1811-1892).

In 1869 he founded a factory for brass and fittings production in his hometown of Bochum , later for mechanical engineering . The Flottmann-Werke developed into an important mining supplier.

On June 2, 1874, Flottmann married Emilie Teichgräber in the Petri Church in Dortmund , who ran the company after his death until the eldest son Otto Heinrich Flottmann took over and relocated to Herne around 1908 .
