Friedrich Hermann Flayder (baptized October 10, 1596 in Tübingen , † April 6, 1644 in Tübingen) was one of the last great Tübingen poet-humanists and dramatists.

Life

Born in Tübingen, Flayder enrolled at the university in his hometown as early as 1611 at the age of fifteen. In 1615 he obtained a master's degree in the liberal arts, and then continued his classical studies. In 1620 he was appointed extraordinary professor of classical music. At the same time he taught at the Tübingen Princely School until 1628 , where most of his school dramas were written. In 1635 he was appointed full professor and in 1638 dean. From 1628 until his death in 1644 he was also the university librarian.

family

He was the son of Jakob (born May 12, 1575, Plieningen ), the son of a Württemberg dean. His mother was Agnes, daughter of the castle captain Johann Hermann Ochsenbach (* around 1525) and granddaughter of the Hohentübingen bailiff Hans Hermann Ochsenbach .

His first marriage was on September 10, 1620, Maria Jakobe († 1635), daughter of Georg Schreier († 1622), bailiff in Bebenhausen , and had 7 children with her. In his second marriage he married Anna Katharina von Mie on December 8, 1636, with whom he had a child.
