Friedrich Joseph Cleynmann

Friedrich Joseph Cleynmann , also Cleymann or Kleinmann , (born March 13, 1764 in Frankfurt am Main ; † October 16, 1827 ibid) was a businessman and politician in Frankfurt.

Cleymann was a co-owner of the de Neufville-Mertens & Bernard bank. Between 1807 and 1813 he was a commercial assessor at the city court. In 1808 Grand Duke Carl Theodor von Dalberg appointed him councilor and member of the new chamber of commerce . However, he did not participate intensively in the work of the chamber, which he refused, and left the chamber in 1810. In 1809 he became a senator and in 1811 Maire (mayor). However, he resigned from this position before the end of his term in order to be able to devote more time to his commercial activities. In 1816 he became the junior mayor, in 1818 Schöff.

Cleymann was the author of numerous publications on trade issues and an expert on coin and trade issues. He is the founder of a charity for the education and training of young people (1800).
