Friedrich Judel

Friedrich Judel (called: Fietje ) (* 1948 in Bremen ) is a German yacht designer and has been sailing since early childhood.

Friedrich Judel is a trained boat builder and shipbuilding engineer. In 1978, together with Rolf Vrolijk , he founded the company judel / vrolijk design in Bremerhaven , which was joined in 1986 by Torsten Conradi , who specializes in the design of fast sailing and motor yachts. The design office is rated as one of the world's most renowned. The Judel design team was responsible for the design of the German Americas Cup boat from United Internet Team Germany and other individual constructions. The design office has been working with the series yacht manufacturer Hanseyachts for a long time and is responsible for many of their constructions. In 2012, Judel left the design office that was founded together with Vrolijk.

Since 1973 he has also been working in the technical department of the German Sailing Association (DSV) . In this function, Judel was represented on various committees of the International Sailing Federation (ISAF), the Offshore Racing Congress (ORC), Germanischer Lloyd and ISO.
