Friedrich Karl Julius Schütz

Friedrich Karl Julius Schütz (born May 31, 1779 in Halle (Saale) , † September 4, 1844 in Leipzig ) was a German historian. He also wrote under the pseudonym Papageno .

Life

The son of the humanist and Jena professor Christian Gottfried Schütz studied at the University of Jena and became a private lecturer in 1801 and a professor of philosophy in Halle in 1804 . Schütz accompanied his wife, the actress Henriette Hendel (Hendel-Schütz), on her art tours since 1811 and appeared on stage herself. After the divorce he lived in Hamburg and Leipzig.

  • Christian Gottfried Schütz . Representation of his life, character, etc. Merit along with a selection from his literary. Correspondence with the most famous scholars and poets of his time. (Hall 1834/35, 2 volumes)
  • Zacharias Werner's biography and characteristics, along with original information from his handwritten diaries. (2 vols., Grimma, 1841)
