Friedrich Koldewey (educator, 1866)

Ernst August Friedrich Theodor Koldewey (born March 16, 1866 in Wolfenbüttel , † December 25, 1940 in Bad Harzburg ) was a German pedagogue, high school teacher and historian.

Koldewey, son of the high school teacher Friedrich Koldewey (1839–1909), attended high school in Wolfenbüttel, Holzminden and Braunschweig . From 1885 to 1888 he studied theology and philology in Göttingen and Jena . In Jena he was awarded a Dr. phil. and for Lic. theol. doctorate and passed the two theological exams (1888 and 1890). From 1889 he was active in the school service, first in Stadtallendorf (1889–1890), then as rector of the city school of Königslutter (1891–1894). From 1894 he was director of the grammar school in Bad Harzburg, today the Werner von Siemens grammar school .

He was a co-founder of the Braunschweigisches Landesverein für Heimatschutz .
