Friedrich L. Boschke

Friedrich Ludwig Boschke (born February 28, 1920 in Barkhausen (Porta Westfalica) , † September 28, 1999 in Heidelberg ) was a German chemist and science author.

Life

Boschke studied chemistry in Göttingen and Marburg and received his diploma from Hans Meerwein in 1947 with a diploma thesis on aromatic diazonium salts. He then worked in the editorial department of Angewandte Chemie at Verlag Chemie , which appeared again from 1947 (headed by W. Foerst) and whose editorial office was first in Fronhausen near Marburg, from 1952 in Heidelberg and from 1970 in Weinheim. He was also co-editor of the news from chemistry and technology from the publishing house chemistry and in the Umschau publishing house of chemistry for laboratory and enterprise . In 1964 he went to Springer Verlag . He was there from 1967 to 1983 editor of The Sciences and the Advances in Chemical Research (later Topics in Current Chemistry ). Most recently at Springer he was head of the chemistry department at Springer Verlag and was also a lecturer in chemistry literature at the University of Mainz. He last lived in Bammental .

He wrote nonfiction books on astronomy, the origin of life and environmental protection, some of which were translated into several languages ​​and had high editions (like his book The Creation Is Not Ended), and published under the pseudonym Godber Nicolay Tomby or GN Tomby. In his role as a publisher's editor, he was also involved in the editing of a number of chemistry books.
