Friedrich Lahusen

Friedrich (Friedel) Johannes Lahusen (born June 2, 1900 in Delmenhorst , † December 22, 1961 in Bremen ) was a German businessman and President of the North German Mission Society.

biography

Lahusen was the son of Johann Carl Lahusen (1858-1921), the North German Wool Combing & Kammgarnspinnerei ( Nordwolle led) in Delmenhorst and Bremen 1888-1921. His mother was Armine Mathias (1867-1919). He grew up with eight other siblings in the Lahusen villa in Delmenhorst and attended the Alte Gymnasium in Bremen until 1917 . He was then a soldier in World War I. From 1919 to 1920 he studied agriculture in Halle . However, he then worked as a businessman in Vienna, among other places .

In 1929 he became a member of the board of directors of the family company Nordwolle , which at the time was run by his brother Georg Carl Lahusen (1888–1973). In 1931 the Nordwolle Group went bankrupt and ended his career as an entrepreneur. In 1932 he took over the Heye & Co printing company . During the Second World War he still had to serve in the Volkssturm , became a prisoner of war and preached as an Evangelical lay preacher and shop steward in a camp near Marseille .

In 1946 he rebuilt the Heye printing company. In addition, he was on the board and since 1950 chairman of the North German Mission Society ( North German Mission ) and other institutions of the Protestant Church.

Honors

  • The Lahusen family's life's work is presented in the Delmenhorst factory museum.
  • The Lahusenstraße in Delmenhorst bears the family name.
