Friedrich Lang (politician, 1778)

Friedrich Lang (born January 24, 1778 in Lübeck , † February 28, 1859 in Verden ) was a German lawyer and politician.

Lang was born the son of the businessman Friedrich Lang. From 1796 he studied law at the University of Göttingen and finished his studies in 1798 with a doctorate. iur.

From 1798 to 1807 Lang was the owner of the Klinken estate near Lübeck. In 1807 he was appointed syndic of the Magistrate of Verden, from 1810 to 1811 he was procurator of the civil court in Verden. He then moved to Bremen as a lawyer , in 1813 he returned to Verden, where he held the office of syndic and city judge until 1852. He then worked as a chief magistrate in Verden until his death.

From 1833 to 1839 and from 1848 to 1852 Friedrich Lang was a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates Assembly of the Kingdom of Hanover .

From May 18, 1848 to January 29, 1849, Lang represented the 17th Hanover constituency (Verden) in the Frankfurt National Assembly , the first meeting of which he opened as old-age president .
