Friedrich Morgenschweis

Friedrich Morgenschweis , also Fritz Morgenschweis (born April 13, 1920 in Rosenberg, today part of Sulzbach-Rosenberg ; † July 10, 1998 in Regensburg ) was a German Roman Catholic priest and dialect poet ; from 1990 to 1993 he was a member of the Bavarian Senate .

Life

Morgenschweis passed his Abitur at the old grammar school in Regensburg. After his time in the labor service and in the military, he studied philosophy and theology at the Philosophical-Theological University of Regensburg . In 1949 he was ordained a priest in Regensburg. He was a chaplain in Marktredwitz , beneficiary in Sulzbach-Rosenberg and worker and company chaplain of the diocese of Regensburg. In 1969 he was appointed Ordinariate Councilor, in 1972 Cathedral Chapter . From 1972 to 1990 he was vicar general , from 1977 to 1990 cathedral dean and representative of the bishop as confirmation donor. In addition, he was the diocesan president of the Catholic Workers' Movement and participated in the development of company and guest worker pastoral care . In 1963 he was appointed papal secret chamberlain and in 1985 apostolic protonotary .

Morgenschweis was also a dialect poet.
