Friedrich Moroder , also Rico (born March 21, 1880 in Ortisei in Val Gardena ; † January 24, 1937 there ), was a South Tyrolean sculptor .

He was born as the son of the Ladin painter Josef Theodor Moroder, called the Lusenberger and Felizita Unterplatzer in Ortisei in Val Gardena. He learned the trade in his father's workshop. Two sons, Viktor and Bruno, were also trained as sculptors in his workshop in Ortisei. During the First World War , like many Tyrolean Standschützen , he was sent to Galicia on the Russian front.

Friedrich's sculptor's workshop was mainly known for sacred art for decorating churches. Moroder married Genoveva Runggaldier (-Paßberg) on ​​October 11, 1904. Both had five children, three sons and two daughters. His elder, of the same name, was ordained a priest in 1930 .

Moroder was also musically gifted and played in the local band.
