Friedrich Beese (forest scientist)

Friedrich O. Beese (born September 24, 1943 in Braunschweig ) is a German forest scientist and soil scientist .

life and work

Beese grew up in Weddel and attended schools there and in Braunschweig. He studied agriculture at the University of Göttingen from 1964 to 1968. In 1972 he received his doctorate in soil science . In this field he worked at this university until 1987, interrupted only by a research stay in 1978/1979 at New Mexico State University . In 1986 Beese completed his habilitation . Until 1994 he was director of the Institute for Soil Science of the Society for Radiation Research in Munich, and from 1994 to 2008 Professor of Soil Science and Forest Nutrition again in Göttingen. Beese has been the spokesman for the Climate Impact Research Research Association in Lower Saxony (KLIFF) since 2009 .
