Friedrich Scholz (composer)
Friedrich Scholz (born July 11, 1926 in Katowice ; † October 17, 2008 in Berlin ) was a German composer and writer .
Career
Friedrich Scholz spent his childhood in Upper Silesia . After the Second World War , he fled to a small town near Berlin. In Berlin he studied composition and piano. He worked as a radio play and film music composer for RIAS and ARD , among others . B. for the six-part television film Before the Storm (1984), based on the novel of the same name by Theodor Fontane . He wrote symphonies , choral and chamber music and published several works as a writer. In 1987 he was awarded the German Science Fiction Prize for his science fiction novel After the End . He lived in Berlin and East Tyrol .
He is buried in the Luisenstadt cemetery in Berlin.
