Serpil Turhan

Serpil Turhan (born November 28, 1979 in Berlin ) is a German actress and director .

Life

Turhan is one of four children of a Kurdish family; her parents come from eastern Anatolia and moved to Berlin in the 1970s. She studied theater studies at the Free University of Berlin , after which she was a guest student at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin . She then began making documentaries herself and studied media art / film at the Karlsruhe University of Art and Design. Her practical preliminary diploma thesis, the original sound - radio play volume '76 (2008), was published on CD and broadcast for the first time in 2010 on Deutschlandradio Kultur . In 2013 she finished her studies with her first full-length documentary Dilim Dönmüyor - My Tongue Does Not Turn. Serpil Turhan lives and works in Berlin.

Turhan has starred in several films by Thomas Arslan , Rudolf Thome and Neco Çelik . She was on the jury of several well-known film awards.

Serpil Turhan married in 2011 and had a daughter in 2014.
