This sketchbook was a fragment of 36 sheets in 1897 and contained drawings based on works by Fra Angelico and Raffael ( School of Athens and Borgobrand ), Italian landscape and architectural sketches from Foligno, Montefalco, Rome and Ariccia as well as Roman "folk types".
On May 5, 1832, he married Gertrud Körfer in Aachen and worked as a portrait , history , landscape painter , etcher and drawing teacher. As the successor to Aegidius Johann Peter Joseph Scheuren , Thomas gave drawing lessons at the St. Leonhard Higher School for Daughters in Aachen for 30 years .
