Friedrich Wilhelm Hermann

Friedrich Wilhelm Hermann (* 1774 ; † April 11, 1822 in Dresden ) was a German lawyer and mayor of Dresden.

Life

Friedrich Wilhelm Hermann's family originally came from Nuremberg ; the merchant and ancestor Hans Hermann was a member of the Great Council of Nuremberg.

Friedrich Wilhelm Hermann's father, Johann Zacharias Hermann the Younger (* unknown; † 1802), was chamber assistant councilor and senior salt inspector for the Elector of Saxony. His mother, Christiane Friederike Lingke (* unknown; † May 20, 1816), was the daughter of the Saxon court and judiciary secretary Friedrich Philipp Lingke (1712–1783). His grandfather Johann Zacharias Hermann the Elder (* unknown; † 1735) was mayor of Torgau, as was his great-grandfather Paul Hermann there.

Friedrich Wilhelm Hermann attended school and studied law in Wittenberg , which he completed with a doctorate .

In 1813 he was a member of the Dresden City Council. This year took place on 20./21. May 1813 the battle of Bautzen took place, during which the Hermann property in Weidlitz in Upper Lusatia was plundered and devastated.

After his mother died in 1816, he was entrusted with the manors Weidlitz and Pannewitz and in the same year appointed mayor of Dresden. He remained in this office until his death in 1822. His successor was Johann Georg Ferdinand Jacobi .

Friedrich Wilhelm Hermann was married to Charlotte Wilhelmine Kuhn from Freiberg . His son was Paul Hermann .
