Friedrich Wilhelm Koehler

Friedrich Wilhelm Köhler (born September 3, 1740 in Wolkenstein , † August 4, 1798 in Eibenstock ) was a Saxon Evangelical Lutheran pastor and chronicler.

The son of the Selva cantor Michael Köhler, who is famous as a good Latin poet, attended the grammar school in Chemnitz . He studied Protestant theology at the University of Leipzig and graduated with a master's degree in 1761. He was initially in various positions for a few years. In the mountain town of Eibenstock he held the office of deacon from October 3, 1772 , before he was appointed pastor on July 3, 1782 and finally introduced into the pastoral office on November 16 of that year. He held the parish office until his death. Köhler wrote some chronicles about his home in the Ore Mountains, u. a. about his hometown Wolkenstein, the neighboring warm bath and 1792 a new chronicle from Eibenstock.
