Friedrich Wilhelm Richard Rödiger von Manteuffel (born September 29, 1854 in Brieg ; † May 20, 1922 in Achern ) was a Prussian officer, most recently a colonel and commander of the 2nd Posen Field Artillery Regiment No. 56 .

Life

Friedrich Wilhelm was the son of the Prussian major Richard Alfred Guido Rödiger (1830–1870) and his wife Luise, née von Ravenstein. In 1880 first second lieutenant , he was first lieutenant in the 2nd Baden Field Artillery Regiment No. 30 in Rastatt . Until his departure in 1909, he was Colonel in command of the 2nd Posenen Field Artillery Regiment No. 56 in Lissa .

family

On April 19, 1869, according to other sources on June 1, Friedrich Wilhelm was adopted by Karoline (Lina) von Manteuffel (1827–1912) in Berlin. Rödiger was raised to the Prussian nobility and from then on bore the name Rödiger von Manteuffel. After the death of his father Richard, his mother Luise married the Prussian Colonel Carl Alfred von Manteuffel (1830–1911) from the Polzin family and brother of Karoline von Manteuffel.

Friedrich Wilhelm married Johanna Leontine Olga Wilhelmine Reinboldt (* 1862), daughter of the Prussian major Franz Maximilian Leopold Reinboldt (1833–1890) and Amalie Johanna Rheinboldt (1835–1873) on November 28, 1891 in Karlsruhe. The marriage had two sons:

  1. Maximilian Friedrich Karl (born March 17, 1893 in Rastatt; † September 3, 1914 in the Priesterwald near Saint-Mihiel ), lieutenant in the 1st Baden Leib Grenadier Regiment No. 109
  2. Eitel-Friedrich (1895–1984), Major General in the Air Force in World War II
