Friedrich Wilhelm Utsch (born January 23, 1732 in Rheinböllen , Hunsrück , † March 13, 1795 in Rheinböllen) was, like his ancestors, hereditary forester for the Elector of Mainz in the Soonwald .

He was given the title Hunter from the Electoral Palatinate from the folk song of the same name. The original 6 stanzas of the song were probably written by Pastor Martin Klein, who was a friend and companion of Utsch. Only 3 stanzas are known today. The song is meant in a humorous way, because allegedly the hereditary ranger only shot 3 deer and a buck in 15 years.

In 1913, the German Emperor Wilhelm II inaugurated a memorial stone for the "Hunter from Electoral Palatinate" in his capacity as the highest hunting lord near Sobernheim. The folk song research thinks they have found out that the song was not composed until 1800. If it refers to a historical figure at all, then most likely to Elector Karl Theodor (1724–1799).

The family owned the historic Utsch house in Bacharach . Utsch was also the owner of the Malteser Hospital Estate in Sobernheim, built in 1722, where he also lived for a long time. His official seat was the Entenpfuhl forester's lodge near Bad Sobernheim .

He is buried in the Willigis chapel near the village of Auen .
