Friedrich Wilhelm Winckel

Friedrich Wilhelm Winckel (born September 7, 1804 in Berleburg ; † December 13, 1876 ​​there ) was a German Reformed theologian and writer.

Life

Winckel was the son of a doctor and received his first lessons from his father and two clergymen. From 1819 he lived with relatives in Diez. From 1820 to 1824 he attended grammar schools in Weilburg , Wetzlar and Soest . From 1824 to 1827 Winckel studied Protestant theology in Berlin. In the years from 1827 to 1829 he belonged to the seminary in Wittenberg . From 1831 he was pastor in Raumland . In 1838 Winckel moved to Berleburg, where he was the second pastor until 1854 and later the first pastor until his death on December 13, 1876. From 1859 he was also superintendent of the Wittgenstein diocese. The University of Marburg awarded him the theological doctorate for his pastoral and scientific merits.
