Friedrich Wintzer

Friedrich Wintzer (born July 27, 1933 in Ottrau ; † December 23, 2004 in Meckenheim ) was a German Protestant theologian .

biography

Friedrich Wintzer studied Protestant theology in Marburg , Basel and Göttingen . He received his doctorate in Göttingen in 1963, and in 1968 he completed his habilitation there with the study on 19th century homiletics, which is still important today, " The basics of homiletics from Schleiermacher to the beginnings of 'dialectical theology' ". From 1968 to 1971 Wintzer was pastor in Werleshausen, Hesse . In 1972 he took over the office of rector at the study seminar of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hanover in Göttingen. In 1978 he followed the call to Bonn , where he also held the office of university preacher. In addition, he was a representative of the faculty in the regional synod of the Evangelical Church in the Rhineland and co-editor of the specialist journal "Pastoraltheologie".

Wintzer taught from 1978 to 1998 as a professor for practical theology at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn with a focus on homiletics . He was married to Hilde Wintzer, b. Sauter, * July 20, 1937; † December 31, 2018. The marriage has two sons.
