Friedrich von Brandenburg (born March 22, 1588 in Cölln , † May 19, 1611 in Sonnenburg ) was called Friedrich IX. Margrave of Brandenburg.

Life

Friedrich, from the house of Hohenzollern , was a son of the Brandenburg Elector Johann Georg (1525–1598) from his third marriage to Elisabeth (1563–1607), daughter of Prince Joachim Ernst von Anhalt . Friedrich was in Frankfurt and Tübingen trained and made an extensive grand tour through Europe.

He was first coadjutor in 1604 and finally in 1610 Lord Master of the Order of St. John in the Brandenburg Ballei Sonnenburg. He died at the age of 23 and was buried in the parish church of Küstrin .

His motto was Justus ut palma floredit (The righteous will bloom like a palm tree).
